Exhibition of County Clare Artist James A. Truett’s Work in New York’s Times Square for St. Patrick’s Day 2025
KILDYSART, CO. CLARE, IRELAND — County Clare artist and photographer James A. Truett’s work will be displayed on a big screen in the iconic Times Square, New York, for St. Patrick’s Day next week (March 17-18, 2025).
“I’m thrilled to be selected for this exhibition in one of the most iconic locations in New York City,” Truett said. “To be able to share the beauty of the Irish countryside with the visitors to Times Square is an honour, especially during the St. Patrick’s holiday period.”
The exhibition will take place on the video screen located at 1560 Broadway St., above the Pele Soccer Store.
Truett’s work will be featured alongside pieces from 13 other artists from around the world in a rotating showcase sponsored by Plogix Gallery. The two images selected for display are:
“Green Leaves on a Pond”
This piece features County Clare’s Lake Cullaunyheeda and explores themes of perception and reality.

“Poppies and Wildflower Meadow”
This artwork captures wildflowers in Galway City, highlighting beauty in unexpected urban settings.

Residing in Kildysart, Truett describes his art as “lens-based digital art,” which begins with a photograph and is enhanced through digital technology. His artistic style is influenced by his upbringing in Alaska and his deep connection to nature, which is reflected in his focus on vibrant colors and impressionist techniques.
Truett’s career began at the age of 13 as a journalist and photographer in Fairbanks, Alaska. He later worked as a journalist based in Seattle for The Associated Press and has published seven books and three mini-magazines featuring his photographs.
His work has previously been exhibited in Bali (Indonesia), Beijing (China), Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore (Pakistan) as well as New York and Las Vegas. It also is held in private collections across many countries, including the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica and the Netherlands.
