Creepy Irish Halloween Photos
Since today is Halloween, I’m going to share with you the utterly CREEPIEST images I’ve ever captured. This is NO JOKE, and these are NOT Photoshopped.
So what’s the story? I captured these in June 2017 while photographing in what I call the “Faerie Forest” next to Thoor Ballylee (Yeats’ Tower). The 15th-century castle in County Galway was the former Summer home of Nobel laureate W. B. Yeats.
To give you a bit of history, Yeats lived in this area in the 1920s, and no doubt explored these environs. He was an avid believer in the occult, and frequently wrote about Irish mythology and the faerie realms.
My intended subject was the little pink Herb Robert flower with the waters of the Streamstown River in the background, but, as you can see, I got a bit more than I bargained for…
I did not notice these strange shapes or creatures(?) in the water until I got back home, and they sent electrifying shudders down my spine. They appear to be under the water looking back at me.
Were they mythical beings reaching out to me to let me know they are real? Were they warning me away from their domain? Or perhaps they were just ‘photobombing’ for fun! I just don’t know…
What do you think? Definitely strange and spooky… HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
